This is the first ever UK release from Westfield, New Jersey's The Static Jacks - a strictly limited (300 copies) 7 inch vinyl released by London's Laissez Faire Club (The Collectable Few, Channel Cairo) featuring two tracks taken from the band's debut full-length "If You're Young", out in the US through Fearless Records.
Since forming in 2009, the band have made waves in their homeland with their unique blend of garage, soul and punk, lending support to the likes of Biffy Clyro, Young The Giant, The Futureheads, Wild Beasts, White Denim and The Wombats. The band have also generated healthy buzz with notable shows at SXSW and CMJ in 2010 and 2011, and have become known for their impromptu busking sessions in New York's Union Square.
"Into The Sun" is a driving, garage-rock anthem with a fist-pumping chorus built for the summer festivals, whilst the flip side "Mercy, Hallelujah" engulfs the listener with Cure-like guitars. In all cases, front man Ian Devaney's distinct, sing-it-like-you-mean-it vocals take centre stage, and set the band apart from their peers in indie rock's crowded market.
